Routes and Rides
We ride. A lot. From remote Highland passes to coastal gravel tracks, we've explored some of Scotland's most spectacular cycling terrain — and we want to share it with you. Whether you're planning a weekend road ride, a multi-day bikepacking tour, or a technical MTB adventure, you'll find routes here to inspire your next trip.
All of our routes are published on Komoot, where you can preview the terrain, download GPX files, and adapt the start and finish points to suit your plans.
What We Ride
Road
Scotland's road network offers some of the most dramatic cycling in Europe. Expect long climbs, sweeping descents, and very little traffic once you're off the main routes. Our road rides range from accessible day loops to challenging multi-day tours through the Highlands.
Gravel
Gravel riding is where Scotland truly shines. Forestry tracks, old drove roads, and estate paths connect landscapes that tarmac never reaches. These routes suit gravel bikes and hardtails, and often reward you with solitude and scenery in equal measure.
Mountain Bike (MTB)
From purpose-built trail centres to raw natural singletrack, Scotland has world-class MTB terrain. Our MTB routes cover a range of abilities — always check trail conditions before heading out, especially in winter.
Touring and Bikepacking
Multi-day adventures are our passion. Scotland's network of quiet roads, bothies, and wild camping spots make it one of the best bikepacking destinations in the world. Our touring routes are designed with loaded bikes in mind — manageable daily distances with plenty of places to stop.
How to Use Our Routes
All routes are available on Komoot. New to Komoot? Download our quick guide to get started:
📄 How to use Komoot (PDF guide)
- Download the GPX file directly to your GPS device or cycling computer
- Adjust the start and finish points to suit your location
- Check the elevation profile before you go — Scotland is rarely flat
- Use the Komoot app offline so you're covered in areas with no signal
Kit Worth Packing
Scottish weather is famously unpredictable. Whatever the season, we'd recommend packing a waterproof layer, a spare tube, and enough food for longer than you think you'll need. Our panniers and bikepacking bags are designed for exactly these conditions — built to keep your gear dry and your bike balanced on long days in the saddle.
