Connor McElwaine
Connor McElwaine is currently taking on the adventure of a lifetime — cycling more than 18,000 km from his grandparents' street of Canberra Avenue in Clydebank to Canberra, Australia. After leaving his career in education, he set off on this self-supported journey across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, China, Southeast Asia and Australia to challenge himself while raising funds for Venture Scotland.
Travelling with everything he needs on his bike, Connor has experienced everything from remote deserts and mountain passes to bustling cities, meeting people from a wide range of cultures along the way. His journey is driven by a belief that adventure can build confidence and unlock who we really are — beliefs that reflect Venture Scotland's mission of helping people discover what they're capable of through challenging outdoor experiences.
Through sharing his experience, Connor hopes to inspire others to step outside their comfort zones, embrace new challenges, and see the world with curiosity and kindness.
